What does the solution do?

It’s probably safe to say that most people understand the concept of voicemail, at the very least they are intimately familiar with answering machines. So, in so many words, voicemail is a computer-based system that facilitates via telephone the exchange of personal voice messages, the ability to select and deliver voice information, and the ability to process transactions relating to individuals, organizations, products, and services.

Today, most cellular services offer voicemail as a standard feature. As such, it’s one of those things that’s quite easy for consumers to take for granted. But the fact of the matter is, somebody’s got to set it up; somebody’s got to spend their time contemplating the intricacies and complexities of voicemail. If not, you’re left with a lot of perplexed customers bemoaning the fact that their service provider can’t even get something simple like voicemail right!

This is where Pareteum VMS comes in. It’s a highly flexible voicemail solution that gives service providers of all sizes the ability to create rich, differentiated experiences for their subscribers. It provides configurable options across four separate layers and creates a multi-tenant environment in which each tenant can define and support multiple ‘Classes of Service.’

Pareteum VMS was designed to be simple. It integrates easily with existing platforms and cloud architectures. Moreover, to speed along provisioning, it includes an XML-based provision interface and various other auto-provisioning options.

It’s also enormously scalable, handling 5,000 voice mailboxes as capably as 5 million (or more!). This makes it perfect for both newly launched mobile brands looking to pay as they grow and established communications service providers with large subscriber bases.


How do clients interact with the service? 

Pareteum VMS was built to be accessed via the Pareteum Experience Cloud’s APIs; moreover, such that our customers can deploy it in their private cloud, on-premise, or in a hybrid configuration.

Operators can directly manage the menu structure of Pareteum VMS’s user settings. As such, the menu structure can be configured to appear as though the Voicemail was built tailor made.

For seamless migrations, it can even be used to duplicate existing systems, so subscribers won’t have to acquaint themselves with a new one.

No matter how our customers choose to deploy the service, they will have over 100 configurable options with which to design their voicemail experiences. These options include:

  • Organization and language
  • Various pin code options
  • First time caller dialogue
  • Maximum allowed messages
  • Maximum stored or saved messages
  • And more!

Which features are most popular with clients?

First and foremost, Pareteum VMS boasts exceptionally high call completion rates. This is owing to the various slam down notification options — otherwise known as missed call alerts or missed call notifications — that come standard with the service.

What’s coming up?

While there are no immediate plans to make any substantial updates to Pareteum VMS, we are nevertheless looking at eventually introducing a visual voicemail component for iPhone and Android devices. So, while most voicemail systems use the traditional sequential listening order, ours would be a direct-access voicemail system with a visual interface that presents a list of messages for playback.

Pareteum is partnered with a well-known Dutch provider of fixed, mobile, and integrated communication and entertainment services. By leveraging the Pareteum VMS solution, they were able to create a single, geo-redundant deployment to support various fixed-line systems and the company’s mobile network. As such, they were able to provide the same voicemail experience across their entire customer base, including both fixed line customers and mobile subscribers.
