Backend QA Engineer

We are currently in a period of substantial growth and are looking for an experienced Backend QA Engineer who is passionate about technology. The successful applicant would be required to attend site for at least 2 days in the Bruges office.

The key focus of the role will be to read functional specifications of the new software features and analyze requirements documentation. The role includes but is not limited to:

• Creation of test design and testcases according to the functional specifications and the requirement documentation.
• Writing test requirements
• Test the software as a whole (existing software extended with new features) and identify deficiencies.
• Performing backend testing: functional, regression, Soap and Rest API, performance, and security testing
• Track the results of the testing.
• Developing automatic test cases in ReadyAPI/ SoapAPI/ NUnit
• Writing test reports and issue reports (bug reporting in AD).
• Participating in daily standup meetings for project status update.
• Ensure timely delivery of results, in accordance to Release and Deployment planning.
• Participate in root cause identification and resolution.
• Helping to set up test environments.

The ideal candidate has an analytical mindset and likes solving problems with colleagues from all over the globe. You will hold an ISTQB Certificate or any other Quality Assurance certification. To be considered for the role we require you to have:

• Has fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Has 4 years of minimum experience in backend testing.
• Has strong programming fundamentals.
• Is capable of writing and executing manual tests.
• Assumes responsibility for their work, accepts direction and feedback from colleagues and managers.
• Suggests solutions to identified product problems.
• Is always looking to support continuous improvement of the overall Software Development Life Cycle
• Is curious and willing to learn.
• Is able to think critically and creatively.
