System Engineer

We are currently in a period of substantial growth and are looking for an experienced System Engineer, based in Western Europe, who is passionate about technology.

This will involve deploying and configuring solutions to provide and manage access to physical, virtual, and cloud-based computing resources through software abstractions for resource allocation, access control, and usage monitoring, including hierarchical resource managers, software containers, software container orchestration engines, virtual machines, remote desktops, and virtual private networks. The role includes but is not limited to:

• Automation, develop and deploy software that will help drive improvements in the DevOps pipeline
• Continue to bridge gaps between development and operations with a strong bias towards “Infrastructure as a Code”
• Take an active, leading role in continuous process improvement
• Embrace feedback from our engineering teams to improve their SDLC with automation
• Debug, research, or investigate issues in development and production
• Use Jira for tracking work items through sprints
• Periodic on-call duties to provide application support, incident management, and troubleshooting
• Creating documentation
• Communicating with partners to create technical solutions from business-driven requirements

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in the mobile / data side of IT and has enthusiasm for new technologies and knowledge sharing. You must possess a strong knowledge of Linux administration skills and network protocols. To be considered for the role we require you to have:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer programming or related fields
• 3 or more years of systems administration experience, or equivilent
• Basic working knowledge of VPNs, FW, LB, TCP/IP etc.
  Expert knowledge of Windows Server farms and web stacks including Apache/NGINX/IIS, DNS, NTP setup and management
• Demonstratable knoweldge of Active Directry and MS SQL Server
• Basic Linux experience to include JavaScript, Perl, Shell,
• Python or Bash scripting and coding, networking, storage and release management.
• Previous expereince with Powershell, Docker, PHP and RabbitMQ would be adventegeous
• Good written and verbal English skills, conversational at minimum
